Large Business of Distinction Award
Milford Regional was honored to receive the Large Business of Distinction Award by the Milford Chamber of Commerce at their Annual Meeting & Awards event.REG_Gold_4C_16

Reader’s Choice Regional Gold Award
Milford Regional won Regional Gold in the Gatehouse Media competition. This honor is a reflection of the votes cast by readers of Gatehouse Media news publications, which includes Milford Daily News, MetroWest Daily News, Country Gazette, Hopkinton Crier and Holliston Tab. Readers are asked to vote for their “#1 Choice” in a variety of categories. Milford Regional was recognized as “#1 Hospital” locally, as well as “#1 Hospital” regionally, which includes ballots from residents in 23 surrounding towns. The Medical Center was joined in the Regional Gold category by Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine in Franklin, an affiliate of Milford Regional Medical Center.

Milford Regional Receives Breastfeeding Award
Milford Regional’s Maternity Center and lactation consultants received the 2017 Breastfeeding Achievement Award from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Milford Regional was recognized along with 14 other hospitals for collaboration with Women, Infants and Children (WIC) programs in surrounding communities. Partnering with WIC increases access to breastfeeding education and support for those women who are most at risk socioeconomically.

Milford Regional Nurses Honored for Exemplary Service

MR_Distinction_18As part of Milford Regional’s Nurses Week celebration in FY 2018, a Nurse of Distinction was selected who demonstrates Milford Regional’s values in his/her professional practice by providing exceptional care. Each year, nominees for this prestigious honor are chosen by their peers in each unit within the hospital. At a heartwarming presentation, each nominee was recognized for their quality work and character by their nurse manager. The 2018 Nurse of Distinction honor was then announced with this year’s recognition going to Linda Getchell, RN, in maternity.

Recognizing an Extraordinary 34,500 Volunteer Hours

Milford Regional honored 511 volunteers for their kindness and contributions to the Medical Center over the past year. Volunteers were awarded pins for 500 – 6,000 hours of service. Their caring presence is felt throughout the healthcare system every day. These generous community members gave 34,500 hours of support to patients and staff in FY 2018.
